• We now provide the highest quality restoration, repair and refinishing services for your George Nakashima furniture anywhere. We do so discretely, assuredly and professionally.

• For this work, Ru works closely with a 44 year Veteran of Nakashimas, Adam Martini. Adam is the retired head of the Chair Department and is responsible for the majority of all George Nakashima Conoid Chairs and Lamps in existence. As an active Austrian-trained Master Woodworker with a decade¹s worth of Nakashima¹s main shop experience (cabinets, dining tables, coffee tables, benches) Ru and Adam are able to repair almost any piece and restore it back to its original splendor.

• Our team also offer pick-up and return transportation services (Long Island, NYC, New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania) so that we can provide you with a complete solution to almost any issue that you may have with your furniture. We can also arrange long distance transportation through a third party for you.

• No matter if you are preparing your furniture for auction, giving them to your offspring or would just like your furniture to be brought back to their original state after a lifetime of use, we will be happy to assist you with your task.

• In almost all cases, you will meet with Ru on the pick-ups and returns because he is concerned about the safety and care of your furniture.

• Ru has received chairs as a broken assemblage of parts and comprehensively restored them back into the beautiful chairs that they were designed to be. The chairs were returned to the owner(s) in a condition as good as or better than the day it left the Aquetong compound. Tables with burns, water stains, cracks, and/or broken ³butter-flies² have all been totally restored with the original Nakashima oil finish. (More durable finishes optional)

• Ru is intimately familiar with most all materials and joinery used in the George Nakashima furniture. He and his associates can restore your furniture with virtually identical materials & craftsmanship. If your furniture is at risk - for example if the table top is so thin that the risk of sanding through to the screw tips is too high, we will tell you up front. There are limits to how much the pieces can be sanded and our experience and knowledge allows us to stay within those confines.

• References or Customer testimonials are available by request.

• We can provide documentation and other insurance requirements for those sad circumstances where your furniture has been caught in a fire or flood.

• We are bonded and fully insured so that your piece(s) are covered for loss and/or damage from the time of pick-up to the time that they are returned to you. We will provide insurance for the current, often substantial, fair market value of your furniture. We can assist you in determining the value of your furniture for your own insurance requirements. (We provide this service through an independent third-party vendor.)

• We currently have a backlog of work but will do our best to accommodate your timeline needs. We can commonly get your project done in 3 to 5 weeks. For those circumstances where you need us to keep your furniture during a remodel or repair, we can provide storage for a nominal fee.

• Pricing depends on the condition of the piece and will be quoted with a not-to-exceed fee per piece at the time of pick up. General guidelines are as follows:

• Chairs - chemical and mechanical stripping, cleaning, polishing and a minimal amount of sanding (dents and scratches still may be apparent but the overall aesthetic will not be changed) Original Tung Oil finish applied. $245 to $425 each.

• Dining/Coffee Tables - chemical and mechanical stripping, cleaning, sanding and polishing of top and top edges (dents and scratches can be fully removed, left as-is, or taken to any level in-between) Original Tung Oil finish applied. Base of table cleaned and a renewal coat of oil applied. $45/square foot, $650 minimum.

• Cabinets - chemical and mechanical stripping, cleaning, polishing and a minimal amount of sanding (dents and scratches still may be apparent but the overall aesthetic will not be changed) Original Tung Oil finish or a new non-toxic, low luster pure Tung Oil finish applied. Base and interior of cabinet cleaned and a renewal coat of oil applied. $45/square foot of the top + left and right side panels, $685 minimum. Drawers, grilled doors and shelves additional.

• Other services offered include re-grassing of seats, pandanus cloth replaced, legs replaced or reglued, seats reglued, and spindles replaced. Fee depends on piece

• Transportation service fees depend on the amount of furniture, the number of people needed to move your furniture, the amount of restoration services required and the distance from our facilities. From New York City, the fee for a 7' dining set with 8 chairs would be about $1,250 each way or about $2,000 round
